What this program is

Advanced coursework fails students in a specific way. The content is manageable; what catches people out is that AP and IB exams reward a particular kind of answer — a command term obeyed exactly, a rubric criterion addressed explicitly, working shown in the form the marker is looking for. Strong students routinely lose points for reasons that have nothing to do with understanding.

This program works on both halves. Content review targeted at the syllabus rather than the textbook, and then past papers under exam conditions with mark schemes read alongside, so a student learns what a level-7 or a 5 answer actually looks like compared with their own.

For IB students, internal assessments and the extended essay get dedicated sessions. They are worth a substantial share of the final grade, they are graded against published criteria, and they are the part most often left too late.

How support is structured

  1. 01

    Syllabus audit and baseline

Mapping what has been taught against what is examinable, plus a past-paper section under timed conditions to establish where marks are actually being lost.

  2. 02

    Targeted content review

Rebuilding the specific units the baseline exposed, at the depth the syllabus requires — which is often narrower and deeper than the textbook chapter suggests.

  3. 03

    Command terms and mark schemes

What evaluate, justify, analyse and discuss demand as distinct tasks, and how examiners award marks for each. Students mark their own past answers against the scheme until the gap becomes obvious to them.

  4. 04

    Past-paper practice under conditions

Full sections and full papers timed, then reviewed question by question with the mark scheme open.

  5. 05

Internal assessments and extended essay (IB)

Research question design, methodology, structure and criterion-by-criterion review — coached and critiqued, never written for the student.

  6. 06

    Final revision and exam strategy

A revision timetable across all subjects, question-selection strategy where papers offer choice, and time allocation per section.
