What this program is
The gap between finishing a tutorial and building something is where most self-taught developers stall. Tutorials remove exactly the parts that constitute the job — deciding the structure, choosing between two reasonable approaches, reading an error you have never seen, and coming back to your own code three weeks later.
This cohort is built around that gap. Concepts are introduced in short sessions and then applied immediately to your own project, and every project goes through code review by an instructor who leaves comments you have to respond to. That review loop, more than the syllabus, is what the program is actually selling.
We are careful about outcome claims. This program teaches you to build and ship web applications and gives you a portfolio and interview practice. It does not guarantee employment, and any provider who does should be asked how they define a placement.
The twelve weeks
Foundations — the web platform
HTML semantics, CSS layout with flexbox and grid, responsive design and accessibility basics. Accessibility is taught here rather than bolted on at the end, because retrofitting it is how it gets skipped.
JavaScript properly
Types, functions, scope, asynchrony, promises, modules and the DOM — the parts that make framework code comprehensible rather than magical. Most framework confusion is unresolved JavaScript confusion.
Building with a component framework
Component composition, state, effects, routing and data fetching in a modern framework, with the underlying idea explained so the knowledge transfers when the framework changes.
Data, APIs and authentication
REST and JSON, designing and consuming APIs, relational data modelling, and how authentication and sessions actually work — including the mistakes that turn into security incidents.
Testing, tooling and version control
Unit and integration tests, debugging methodically rather than by guessing, Git workflows, branches and pull requests, and reading someone else's code — which is most of the job.
Deployment and the capstone
Environments, build pipelines and deploying to production, then a capstone you scope, build and defend in review. Plus portfolio, résumé and mock technical interviews.
Format and logistics
